Filmport will demo its web portal and network-based solution at the ShowBiz Expo at the Los Angeles Convention Center June 23rd through June 25th. The ShowBiz Expo is an annual exhibition designed to showcase the technological advances in movie production. "The film and television production industry wants to use the Internet to increase workflow efficiency but they don't know how," said Ahin Savara, President and Co-Founder of Filmport. "Filmport creates the tools to bring these industries together." Filmport has two major features: the Filmport VPO (Virtual Production Office) and the Filmport Portal. With Filmport products, the complexities of producing a film or television project are reduced. The Filmport VPO (Virtual Production Office) is a secure network-based solution that automates production tasks such as disseminating and confirming schedule and production updates to cast and crew. Filmport users are alerted to changes in a production via faxes, cell phones, pager, PDAs, email and web site postings. Among other features, the Filmport VPO also maintains an up-to-date inventory of equipment and props. The Filmport Portal is a free vertical Internet portal with features such as a database of production industry resources, a cell phone and text paging communication system, and a message board community. The Filmport Portal is the initial resource that prepares Filmport users for the advanced Filmport VPO features.
