Filmport was founded in 1998 by a coalition of production, entertainment management and technology professionals who saw the enormous potential of the Internet to enhance efficiency and cut costs in film and television production.

ADVISORY BOARD

David I. Cutbill
David is a partner in the Media & Entertainment Group with Deloitte & Touche. He has thirteen years of experience serving clients in this special sector. His experience includes strategy formation, business consulting, acquisitions, public and private debt and equity offerings. Mr. Cutbill graduated with honors from the University of Durham, and is a chartered accountant in the United Kingdom. Mr. Cutbill is Chair of the BABC LA Conference Committee and is President-Elect of the Chapter, beginning his term in January 2001. Has been invited to speak at numerous trade shows and conferences that focus on the future of Media & Entertainment.

Craig Bernstein
Craig Bernstein caught the film bug at the young age of 16 when he snuck onto the set of "The Breakfast Club" and watched with fascination for several hours. After graduating from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University with a BA in Television-Film Writing, Mr. Bernstein jumped into film production. Mr. Bernstein immediately joined with producers Scott Rosenfelt and Mark Levinson and worked on three films with them: "Big Man On Campus" for Vestron Pictures, "Home Alone" for Twentieth Century Fox, and "Family Prayers" for Columbia TriStar Home Video. He was also a freelancer, learning a variety of production skills from such filmmakers as Ridley Scott and David Fincher on commercials and music videos. When an opening in the newly formed Production Department of ICM became available, Mr. Bernstein jumped at the chance to work with top producers, cinematographers, editors, and production and costume designers in the film and television industries. Named an agent in the department at ICM in 1996, Mr. Bernstein continues to represent some of the most sought-after technicians in the business.

Jeremy Lew
Jeremy Lew is one of the co-founders of ccplanet.com, a content, commerce and community Web site that serves the holistic LOHAS (Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability) marketplace. Mr. Lew served as Chief Creative Officer for ccplanet.com and its services arm ccgenesis.com, an incubator company that launched Gaiam.com (NASDAQ: GAIA), distinguished as the only profitable e-commerce company besides eBay. Mr. Lew's passion and vision for merging the power of the Internet with strategic business solutions have allowed him to provide his expertise to a number of Internet start-ups. With over ten years experience in the entertainment industry, Mr. Lew has worked as a writer and/or producer for Renny Harlin ("Die Hard 2"), Simpson/Bruckheimer ("Crimson Tide," "The Rock," "Armageddon"), Jenny Lew- Tugend ("Free Willy," "Return to Me"), Academy Award-winning composer Hans Zimmer ("The Lion King," "Gladiator"), Academy and Grammy Award-winning producer Jay Rifkin ("Days of Thunder," "The Lion King"), New Line Cinema, Disney, Media Ventures, and Universal Studios.

Roland Alden
Roland Alden is the Chief Technology Officer at CLB Associates, a boutique consulting firm in Palo Alto, California, that advises technology companies and their investors on core strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic alliances. Mr. Alden has over twenty years experience in software engineering and project management at significant technology companies, including large technology companies (MAI, Data General, AT&T) and classic Silicon Valley startups (Forethought, Go and Eo). Mr. Alden was the original developer of vCard, the "electronic business card" exchange format and is the author of several computer textbooks such as "Working with Computers and Windows."

Carl Bressler
Carl Bressler is Founder and President of Montana Artists, a below-the-line talent agency since 1989 for cinematographers, production designers, editors, costume designers, line producers, and unit production managers. Montana Artists' clients have worked on a variety of acclaimed motion pictures and television series including "Austin Powers," "The Green Mile," "Me, Myself & Irene," "NYPD Blue," and "Malcolm in the Middle." Mr. Bressler consults for venture capital-funded startups on general business and strategy. He has spoken at over 30 emerging technology/new media conferences in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Chicago, Detroit, and Melbourne, Australia.
